After installing busTRACE 10.0, you will be left with a busTRACE 10.0 Start Menu icon on your desktop. Double-click this icon to launch busTRACE 10.0. You can also get to this feature from the Windows' Start menu.

All of the available applications, included with busTRACE 10.0, are available to you from the start menu. The available tasks are grouped into different categories to help you find what you're looking for.

Capture I/O Activity

This category covers those features of busTRACE 10.0 that allow you to capture I/O activity on one or more Windows PCs.

Generate I/O Activity

This category covers those features of busTRACE 10.0 that allow you to generate I/O activity. For example, you may want to send a Command Descriptor Block (CDB) to a storage device.

You can click on the check for updates link any time you want to to check for product updates.

Configuration Options

You can configure the busTRACE Start Menu by selecting Tools->Options from the main menu.

By selecting the Help menu, a drop down list of help topics are shown:

Start Menu Quick Launch

Many of our busTRACE 10.0 applications have a busTRACE 10.0 Start Menu button on its main toolbar. By clicking on the button, you can quickly get back to the Start Menu. Alternatively, you can click on the drop down arrow to the right of the button to view the same applications available from the Start Menu application.

This feature allows you to quickly move from one application to another while keeping each application resident.

Dragging and Dropping onto the Desktop icon

If you drag and drop a busTRACE capture file (either .BTD or .ZIP) onto the busTRACE 10.0 Start Menu desktop icon, our busTRACE bus analyzer application will automatically load.
