This WEB page comes from the busTRACE 8.0 User's Manual. (Table of Contents)
This section describes the Capture Settings configuration options available within busTRACE.
Startup Settings (All Devices)
The Extended IRP Capture setting configures busTRACE to capture additional IRP information, such as the I/O stack contents, as the IRP goes down and back up the I/O stack. Please note that enabling this feature will require more memory for each I/O captured. We recommend you enable this feature only if you have a need for the additional information that is provided. The extended IRP information is shown to you in the Extended IRP Capture tab. Please note that this is a global setting. Unlike the options that follow, you cannot enable/disable this feature on a per device basis.
You can adjust the remaining Startup Settings to edit device capture settings on a per device basis. The settings available in this section allow you to configure the busTRACE default capture settings. Please refer to our Device Capture Parameters for descriptions of these options.
The Start busTRACE with capture enabled on all devices option is useful you want to have busTRACE launch with capture disabled on all devices. You can then simply place a checkmark on the device you are interested in capturing and start the capture process (if you are typically only interested in capturing I/O activity against one device).
Startup Settings (SRB/CDB Devices)
The settings available in this section allow you to configure the busTRACE default capture settings specific to SRB/CDB devices. Please refer to our Device Capture Parameters for descriptions of these options.
Load Startup Settings
If you have saved your preferred capture settings to file, you can configure busTRACE to auto-load the specified file at startup.
